Docks and decks need to be pressured cleaned annually. Every few years, it is wise to re-stain and reseal your dock or deck. 

Whatever the material used to build your deck, keep in mind that it should be inspected regularly. For decks made from pressure-treated wood, inspect twice a year.  For decks made from hardwoods or composite materials, make sure to do an annual inspection.  Always check out your docks and decks after a major storm.
